Cornelia C. Bergmann received her
Ph.D. from the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt,
Germany, in 1986. She currently is a Professor at the Cleveland Clinic
Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve
University, USA. Her research interests mainly focus on innate and adaptive
immune responses to viral infections of the central nervous system (CNS), with
an emphasis on mechanisms contributing to viral persistence and demyelinating
disease, similar to multiple sclerosis in humans.
