Author Biographies

Michael John Nicholson is a current pulmonary and critical care fellow at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His educational background includes a BS in biology from The College of New Jersey in Ewing, New Jersey. He received his medical education at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey graduating with the degree Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed internal medicine residency at Bayonne Medical Center in Bayonne, New Jersey where he also served as a third-year chief resident. His clinical and academic interests include infectious, neoplastic and inflammatory diseases of the pleural space.
Christopher Manley is a Director of Interventional Pulmonology and an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at Fox Chase Cancer Center. His educational background includes being a fellow, of interventional pulmonology at Harvard Combined, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts (2015–2016), a fellow of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts (2012–2015), and a resident of internal medicine at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois (2009–2012) and earning an MD with honors in research and bioethics from the Chicago Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois (2009) and a BA in history and pre-medicine from the College of the Holy Cross in Worchester, Massachusetts (2004). His research interests include central airway tumors and treatment of pleural effusions.
Danish Ahmad is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine. His educational background includes a BS in physiology and neurobiology from the University of Maryland (2003–2007) in College Park, Maryland, an MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland (2007–2011), a residency with the Internal Medicine Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (June 2011–June 2014), a fellowship with the Pulmonary Critical Care Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (July 2014–June 2017), and a fellowship with the Interventional Pulmonary Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri (July 2017–June 2018). His treatment focus includes lung cancer screening, pleural diseases, and pulmonary nodules.
