Yerkin G. Abdildin graduated from the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC, USA) with a PhD in Industrial Engineering. He taught
multi-disciplinary courses that were compulsory for students majoring in Mechanical,
Industrial, Chemical, Civil, Materials Science, and Aerospace Engineering at
UIUC for 3 years and was listed in the “List
of teachers ranked as excellent by their students” (UIUC, Spring 2012). He
is currently an Assistant Professor at the MAE Department, School of
Engineering and Digital Sciences, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan. At
Nazarbayev University, he served as a member of the PhD Admission Committee and
MSc Admission Committee at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering (MAE). He is now the Coordinator of the Industry Committee and a
member of the Research Committee at the MAE Department. He is a member
of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Chartered
Institute of Logistics and Transport. His fields of interest include Decision
Analysis, Biomedical Statistics, Healthcare Informatics, and Computational
Science with a particular interest in applications to energy systems, financial
systems, transportation systems, and biomechanical systems.
