Begonã Monge-Maíllo is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Alcalá and a Specialist in Internal Medicine at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital. She completed her BS studies in Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid and her Ph.D. studies in Medicine at the University of Alcalá. She was the Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Clinical Management of Leishmaniasis-SPA 55 in 2021. She has published 67 papers with 1734 citations and an h-index of 24 (Scopus, 16 October 2023). Her research topics mainly include echinococcosis, albendazole, and cestode.
