Luisa Custódio graduated in Agronomy in 1999 from the University
of Algarve (Portugal). In 2006, she completed her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences
(Plant Biotechnology). Between 2006 and 2009, she had a PostDoctoral scholarship
from the Foundation for Science and Technology, FCT. In 2009, she joined the
Marine Biotechnology group of the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR, University
of Algarve) and started, along with J. Varela (group leader) and L. Barreira
(Assistant Professor) a new line of research: bioactive compounds of marine
origin. In July 2013, she was hired as an assistant researcher in the FCT
researcher contest. She has 140 publications with 3361 citations and an h-index
of 34 (Scoups, 24 October 2023).
Catarina Pinto Reis is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy (University of Lisbon). She is a member of Imed-ULisboa and a collaborator at the IBEB (FCUL) research group. She is also an external consultant for Infarmed. From 2007 to Feb 2017, she was Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology I/II and Drug Delivery Systems in the School of Sciences and Health Technologies at the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (Lisbon, Portugal). She attended the University of Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal) and graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her doctoral studies were also undertaken at the University of Coimbra, with several important international collaborations where she developed an interest in advanced drug delivery systems. Those studies have been recognized through a number of national prizes. She finished her Ph.D. in Pharmacy in 2008 as a Distinguished Honor Graduate.
