Author Biographies

Kamilla Klefbeck is a special educational needs and disability (SEND) teacher. She teaches in the special teacher programs at Kristianstad University. Between 2018 and 2022, she dedicated herself to doctoral studies within the framework of the national research school, Special Education for Teacher Educators (SET), generously supported by the Swedish Research Council (Grant No. 2017-06039). On May 2022, she defended her dissertation, titled “Gaining Access to Learning Processes: Professional Development for Teachers Instructing Students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism in Special Primary Education”. Her research interest stems from her experiences in didactic interactions with individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID), including those with co-occurring autism. Over a span of 20 years, from 1997 to 2017, she worked extensively in primary and secondary special education settings and as an educator at an activity center for adults.
