Author Biographies

Marko Jaušovec was born in 1979. In 2004, he graduated with honors from the Faculty for Architecture, Technical University Graz in Austria, then he started working as an architect for different architectural offices. From 2007, he worked at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture, University of Maribor, where he was an Assistant Professor. In 2013, he co-founded the architectural office, Arhisol, where he worked on many realized projects. In 2016, he received his PhD with honors on TU Graz for his dissertation "Smart Architecture Is More Than Just Technology”. In 2020, he was promoted to Assistant Professor. His research topics mainly include smart architecture, digital fabrication in architecture, and the integration of innovations previously not utilized in architectural designs.
Branko Gabrovec obtained his PhD at the University of Maribor in 2014. He has 27 years of experience in psychiatric care, primary health care and public health. Since 2022, he has been leading the National Institute of Public Health as Director General. In addition, as an Assistant Professor, he lectures in Public Health at the University of Ljubljana and the University of Maribor. His research interests are health systems, ageing, age friendly cities, quality and safety in health care. He has been involved and has broader experience from research and policy projects within Slovenia and the European Union regarding public health and health systems.
