Prof. Dr. Maja Benković works at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia. She graduated from the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb. She holds a doctorate with the theme of “Physico-chemical and sensory properties of enriched coffee-based powder mixtures” from the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb (earned in 2013). Besides her academic career, she also has an EU funds project manager degree, which she obtained at the Experta Business School in 2016. She was an assistant at the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology (2008–2014) and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology (2017–2022). Today, she is an associate professor at the same faculty. She received the support of the Biotechnical Foundation in 2012, and was awarded the PBF award for outstanding contribution to scientific research in 2014 and the Silver Medal for Innovation (14th International Innovation Exhibition ARCA 2016). She has 67 paper publications with 746 citations and an h-index of 17 (Scopus, 8 November 2023).
Prof. Dr. Tamara Jurina is an assistant and now works at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia. She graduated with the theme of “Determination of retention time distribution in a membrane bioreactor with a frame plate membrane” from the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, in 2005. She holds a doctorate with the theme of “Modeling the biodegradation and disappearance kinetics of terbuthylazine in soil: comparison with atrazine” from the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb (earned in 2015). Her research interests are modeling and optimization in nutrition, modeling in food engineering, measurement and process management in the food industry, basics of measurement methods in nutrition science, and computer tools for modeling human nutrition. She has 50 paper publications with 766 citations and an h-index of 15 (Scopus, 8 November 2023) in these areas.
Davor Valinger now works at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia. He graduated with the theme of “Optimizing recombinant protein biosynthesis in the bacterium Escherichia coli BL21+P” from the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, in 2006. He was a researcher and analyst at Pliva Research and Development, Bioanalytics (May 2007–March 2009), an analyst at the TAPI Croatia, Quality Control (June 2009–September 2009), and a technologist at the Veterina d.o.o., Biology (September 2009–December 2009), and is currently an assistant at the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb (January 2010–present). His research interests are modeling and optimization in nutrition, modeling in food engineering, measurement and process management, basics of measurement methods in nutrition science, powder technology, and computer tools for modeling human nutrition. He has 54 paper publications with 579 citations and an h-index of 14 (Scopus, 8 November 2023) in these areas.
