Monica Neagu has been the Head of the Immunology Department, at the “Victor Babes” National Institute of Pathology since 2000, as well as a Team Leader for “Assay Development and Alternative Testing”, at “Victor Babes” National Institute of Pathology since 2012. She completed her Master’s studies at the University of Bucharest in 1985, and achieved a Ph.D. in 1996. She is currently managing the Immunology Dept. involved in several national and international research projects and international networks. She is a member of the management team for Romania for COST Actions CA16120, CA18125, CA18127 and ECO-Aerogels CIG. She is the President of the Romanian Society of Immunology (since 2019), a member of the OBBCSSR (since 2003) and a member of the management team for several EU structural projects involving teaching in the domain of High Technologies applicable in the Healthcare System (since 2010). She is a member of the World Academy of Science, and in the last 4 years she entered the database of the 2% World Top Scientists; H-index = 35 (WOS).
