Alicia L. Garcia-Costa, Ph.D., is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Previously she worked as postdoc in the Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy (LEPABE), at University of Porto. She is specialized in water treatment through advanced reduction and oxidation processes and process intensification, being her current research lines directed towards drinking water treatment through the elimination of micropollutants, nitrates and arsenic.

Arminda Alves, Ph.D., is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and Director of the Associate Laboratory in Chemical Engineering (ALiCE), a consortium of the three main research centers in Chemical Engineering in Portugal (LEPABE, CEFT and LSRE–LCM). Her main research areas of interest are Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Quality Management.
