Prof. Dr. Előd Ernő Nagy is the head of the Biochemistry and Environmental Chemistry Department at George Emil Palade UMPhST of Targu-Mures and has been a full professor since September 2020. Since 2016, he has been the deputy director of the university. He is also a senior specialist at the Laboratory of Medical Analyses, Mures Clinical County Hospital. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Targu-Mures. His research focuses on three main topics: (1) biochemical markers of atherosclerosis; (2) complex regulatory pathways in experimental and human osteoarthritis; (3) grading/staging biomarkers in hematological malignancies; (4) and biomarkers and regulatory pathways of inflammation. He has published 31 papers in ISI-indexed journals with impact factors, as the first or last author of 19, and 22 articles in journals with international database indexation. He has also been granted a directorship or membership in six national, international, and regional research projects.
