Caroline Lenette is an Associate Professor, at the School of Social Sciences, and Deputy Director of the Big Anxiety Research Centre. She uses arts-based participatory methods to explore health and wellbeing, intergenerational trauma, and cultural notions of suicidality in collaboration with refugee background co-researchers. Caroline is the author of Arts-based Methods in Refugee Research: Creating Sanctuary (2019, Springer) and Participatory Action Research: Ethics and Decolonization (Oxford University Press, 2022), and co-editor of Disrupting the Academy with Lived Experience-Led Knowledge (Policy Press, 2024). She collaborates with Indigenous and majority-world scholars from around the world who explicitly challenge the colonial roots of research methodologies. In 2023, Caroline created the Anti-Colonial Research Library, an online repository of resources on Indigenous and majority-world research approaches.
