Antti Mäkitie, MD PhD, is a professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery (ORL-HNS), University of Helsinki and Helsinki University Hospital. He graduated in 1986 and completed his PhD studies in 1997. In 2010, he became a professor of ORL-HNS at the University of Helsinki (Finland). He has published more than 600 papers in various journals and has been cited almost 10,000 times. His interests include head and neck cancer epidemiology, prognostic markers and new therapeutical approaches.
