Simone Balin received his master's degree in Building Engineering – Architecture from the University of Padua in 2019, and is now pursuing his PhD in immersive technologies applied to BIM. He worked as an engineer, specializing in the BIM methodology from 2019 to 2021. In 2021, he moved to Politecnico di Milano and was promoted to PhD in 2022. His work focuses on improving the representation, data management, and sharing of models in traditional and virtual environments, with a strong emphasis on the
intersection of BIM, Blockchain, Metaverse, AI, computational design software, and advanced visualization tools. His research topics mainly include: Augmented Reality; Building Information Modelling; Virtual World; Virtual Reality.
