Anna Nowak-Węgrzyn, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Pediatrics at the New York University School of Medicine, and the Director of the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Division, Department of Pediatrics, NYU Langone Health, the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, New York, NY. Her research interests focus on egg and milk allergies, baked milk and baked egg diets, food-induced anaphylaxis in children, novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to food allergy (oral, sublingual and patch immunotherapy), oral tolerance development, and in particular food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES). She served as the Chair of the Adverse Reactions to Foods Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology from 2013 to 2015 and is the current chair of the Food Allergy and Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Interest Section. She is the director of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is also the chair of the Medical Advisory Board for the International FPIES Association and has led the international effort to write the first Consensus Guidelines for Diagnosis and
Management of FPIES, published in 2017. She is the Deputy Editor of the Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the official journal of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology.
Carina Venter is a Professor of Pediatrics and an Allergy Specialist Dietitian dealing with children diagnosed with food allergies, ranging from Food Protein Enterocolitis Syndrome, Eosinophilic Gastro-intestinal diseases, other non-IgE-mediated food allergies and IgE-mediated food allergies. She also has a particular interest in the role of nutrition in the prevention, diagnosis and management of allergic diseases. She is Past Chair of the International Network of Dietitians and Nutritionists in Allergy. She is also a member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology (AAAAI), European Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) and the Allergy Society of South Africa (ALLSA). She has authored many publications and is the editor of Health Professional's Guide to Nutrition Management of Food Allergies.
