Tommaso Cai is the acting Director of the Department of Urology, Santa Chiara Regional Hospital, Trento, Italy. His scientific activity is documented in more than 250 printed publications in peer-reviewed papers and more than 650 abstracts presented at national and international congresses. Moreover, his scientific activity is documented in several books in the urological field addressing issues of prostate and bladder cancer, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, andrological surgery, and robotic and mini-invasive surgery, making use of novel technologies. He is the author and editor of several books. He is the editor-in-chief of the MDPI journal Uro. Moreover, he conducted several clinical trials (observational and RCTs) as principal investigator or coordinator. He is a full member of the European Association of Urology Guideline Board on Urological Infections and the European Section for Infections in Urology (ESIU), as well as the secretary of the Italian Society of Andrology.
Alessandro Palmieri is an Associate Professor at the University of Camerino. In 2007, he earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Sciences at the University of Camerino. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow a the University of Camerino (2007–2010). During this period he focused his attention on the field of green chemistry and,
in particular, on the preparation and utilization of solid supported reagents for the development of methodologies working under sustainable reaction conditions. In 2008, he was a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow in the ITC (Innovative Technology Center) laboratory at the Chemistry Department of the
University of Cambridge (UK) under the supervision of Professor Steven V. Ley. He was an Assistant Professor of the School of Science and Technology, University of Camerino (2010–2013); then, he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014.
Truls E. Bjerklund Johansen has been head urologist and professor of urology at the Urology Department at Oslo University Hospital since 2013 and emeritus ass. professor at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. He achieved his MD at the University of Oslo in 1976 and completed his DMSci studies in 1988 at the same university. He was a professor in urology and chairman of the Norwegian Institute of Urology at University of Tromsoe (1993–2001), a visiting professor at The Norwegian Cancer Registry (2000–2001),
a professor in medical science, Telemark University College (2002–2005), chairman of the Urology Section, Telemark Hospital, Norway (1988–2007), Professor II in Urology at the University of Aarhus, Denmark (2007–2012), and Chairman of the Urology Department, Aarhus University Hospital (2007–2012). He is the special advisor for the EAU Research Foundation (EAURF), a faculty
member of the European School of Urology, co-chairman of the Global Prevalence Study on Infections in Urology (GPIU), and the EAURF/GPIU-Serpens study on urosepsis, and honorary chair of the European Section of Infections in Urology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) and is a referee/consulting editor for numerous medical journals.
