Vitali Czymmek completed his Bachelor's degree in 2015 and his Master's degree in 2018 at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, Heide, Germany. He has been working as a research assistant in the research group "Digitalisation in Agriculture and Forestry" under the supervision of Prof. Hussmann since 2018 and was previously a working student in the research group. He is currently in the doctoral process. His main areas of research are machine learning, object recognition, industrial automation.
Carolin Köhn completed her Bachelor's degree in 2020 and her
Master's degree in 2022 in industrial engineering at the West Coast University
of Applied Sciences, Heide, Germany. She joined the research group
"Digitalisation in Agriculture and Forestry" under the supervision of
Prof. Hussmann as a working student in 2020. Since graduating, she has worked
in the automotive industry in the areas of planning and quality management. Her
research interests include machine learning, data analytics, Industry 4.0, decision
making under uncertainty, industrial and process automation.
Stephan Hussmann received his M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from
the University of Siegen, Siegen, Germany, in 1995 and 2000, respectively. From
2001 to 2003, he was a Lecturer with the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering, University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. Since the end of
2004, he has been a Professor with the Faculty of Engineering, West Coast
University of Applied Sciences (FHW), Heide, Germany, in the area of
microprocessor technology and electronic systems. He has widely consulted with
the industry and has more than 100 publications, which include books, book
chapters, international patents, and refereed journal and conference
proceedings papers. His research interests include machine vision applications,
low-cost multi-sensor system design, real-time image processing, embedded
systems design and automation in agriculture and forestry applications. Since
2013 he has been heading the research group "Digitalisation in Agriculture
and Forestry". In December 2018 the start-up naiture® GmbH & Co. KG,
based in Friedrichsgabekoog, was founded. The newly founded company belongs to
the Westhof Group and is intended to further develop and commercialize the
technologies developed by the FHW research group "Digitalisation in
Agriculture and Forestry" under the direction of Prof. Hussmann.
