José Martins is currently an Invited Assistant Professor at the
University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Department of Engineering),
Invited Assistant at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, and Senior
Researcher (Integrated Member) of the INESC TEC research center. His
research topics mainly include: Information Systems, Management
Information Systems, Software Engineering, and Human–Computer Interaction
topics. Currently, he is supervisor for several Master's Degree
dissertations and a PhD thesis. During his professional career, he has
also worked as an information systems and technologies senior
consultant, where he directly participated in several international
projects. At the present time, José Martins dedicates most of his time
to his lectures and to his research activities where he tries to
understand the variables and (in)direct impacts of ICT adoption at
the individual and firm levels, and how IS solutions can be idealized,
specified, and developed in order to fully address their audience's needs
and requirements.
Frederico Branco is an assistant professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto
Douro and a senior researcher at the INESC TEC research center. He has
published over 100 articles in journals and event proceedings. He is also
involved in several academic works as a project, dissertation, and thesis
supervisor and continuously participates in several research projects. His
professional career is also directly related to industry, focusing on
various planning and implementation projects in information systems, with
particular attention to the agri-food and services sectors. Throughout his
career, he has held different senior management roles in operations,
information systems, and quality management.
