Dr. Melpomeni Peppa is a Professor of Endocrinology and Chief of the Endocrine and Bone Metabolic Disorders Unit, in the Second Propaedeutic Department of Internal Medicine, Research Institute and Diabetes Center, Attikon University Hospital and in the Third Dept of Internal Medicine, Sotiria General Hospital, Athens, Greece. She is a member of the ERASMUS+/CIVIS Committee for Medicine for the exchange and training of medical students in Internal Medicine. She graduated in 1988 from Aristoteleion University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She had a three-year postdoctoral research fellowship in the Division of Experimental Diabetes and Aging, Department of Geriatrics, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NY, USA. Her research interests focus on the clinical, molecular, and environmental aspects of metabolic and hormonal abnormalities in diabetes, obesity, metabolism, cancer, and their complications. Her work has generated 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 8860 Google Scholar citations, and a 40 H-index. Moreover, Dr. Peppa has participated in many national and international conferences. She is a member of national and international professional societies.
