Karen Khachatryan obtained a PhD in Chemical Sciences with a specialization in Organic Chemistry from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow (Poland) in 2002. In 2016, he received a Doctor of Science degree from the Faculty of Food Technology at the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Poland. The title of his Habilitation Thesis was "Synthesis of Nanoparticles in Polysaccharide Matrices and Investigation of the Physicochemical Properties of the Obtained Composites." He holds the position of Professor at the University of Agriculture. He has previously held the position of Department of Chemistry Head and Institute of Chemistry Director. Presently, he leads the Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Laboratory. His areas of specialization include organic chemistry, food nanotechnology, polymer, and biomaterials nanotechnology, along with the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, biopolymers, and nanoparticles such as nanometals, quantum dots, and carbon nanoparticles. He also works on bio- and nano-composites.
Gohar Khachatryan obtained a PhD in chemical technology specializing in polymer technology from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at Szczecin University of Technology in 2006. She was awarded a Doctor of Science degree from the Faculty of Food Technology at the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Poland, in 2019. Her Habilitation Thesis is entitled "Preparation and Physicochemical and Functional Evaluation of Novel Polysaccharide Materials". She holds the position of Professor at the University of Agriculture. She specialises in polymer chemistry, food nanotechnology, and the nanotechnology of both polymers and biomaterials. Additionally, her work includes the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, biopolymers, and various types of nanoparticles, including nanometals, quantum dots, and carbon nanoparticles. She also researches bio- and nano-composites.
