Ahmed Galal Abokhalil is an associate professor at Majmaah University, Saudi Arabia, and Asiut University, Egypt. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Assiut University, Egypt in 1992 and 1996, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in Yeungnam University, South Korea, in 2007. His current research interests include renewable energy, smart grids, power electronics, motor drives, power quality, artificial intelligence, evolutionary and heuristic optimization techniques, and distributed generation. He acts as an Editor and Associate Editor for many international journals. In addition, he has chaired many international conference sessions.
Dr. Alobaid is a Consultant Engineer with experience in managerial and executive roles in a variety of industries. An Expert in renewable energy and HVAC systems, Dr. Alobaid has extensive business knowledge and has been the Project Manager of mega projects in the building and construction industry. As a team establisher and general administrator of projects, Dr. Alobaid has been responsible for the maintenance and management of multiple mega projects. Dr. Alobaid has also fulfilled the role of acting Dean/Vice Dean for development and quality. Dr. Alobaid has also worked as a researcher and an analyst to address the challenges of sustainable economic development with respect to renewable energy, net zero energy building, district cooling, and ventilation modelling analysis. Additionally, Dr. Alobaid has authored and published several papers regarding renewable energy, energy efficiency, and district cooling.
