Dr Eleftheria Hatzimichael is an Associate Professor of Haematology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ioannina, Greece. She completed her MD and PhD studies at the University of Ioannina, Greece and has been awarded a Scholarship by the Foundation of the Hellenic Society of Hematology to work with Prof Isidore Rigoutsos as visiting scientist at the Computational Medicine Centre, Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, US, in the field of the noncoding human genome by computational and experimental approaches. She has published more than 120 papers in various journals (h index 30), and serves as the secretary of the Hellenic MDS Study Group, as a member of the board of directors of the Hellenic Society of Hematology, and as a member of the Editorial Board of Diseases (section Oncology. She is the PI of 29 Phase III and IV clinical trials and has served as a subinvestigator in more than 25 Phase I-III clinical trials and as a reviewer for more than 27 journals.
