Dr. Sultan Kocaman earned a BS from the Yildiz Technical University in Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering (1997) and from ETH Zurich a PhD in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (2009). She is now a professor in the Department of Geomatics Engineering at Hacettepe University. Her work in Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, and GIS has resulted in over 160 publications. Her research interests include various domains of GIScience, including natural hazards, disaster management, land management, spatial planning, object detection, and data quality assessment.
Dr. Gabriela Seiz has a Master in Geography and Atmospheric Physics from University of Zurich (1996) and a PhD in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from ETH Zurich (2003). She has held long-term senior management positions at the Swiss Confederation (Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss, Federal Office of Communications OFCOM) and has served on several national and international boards and committees related to space affairs, climate monitoring and policy. She is now working as an independent senior advisor in space, climate and sustainability.
