Dr. Giacomo Baima graduated in Dentistry from the University of Turin in July 2016 with a final grade of 110/110 cum laude. In 2017, he earned a Master's in Dental Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and conducted a research period at Michigan University. In the period from 2018 to 2022, he completed his Master's in Periodontology in Turin under the mentorship of Prof. Mario Aimetti and received the Board Certificate from the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). Currently, he is a PhD candidate and research fellow at the University of Turin, serving as a teaching assistant for undergraduate and Master's degree students. Together with clinical research focused mainly on the regenerative treatment of severe periodontal/peri-implant defects, his group, led by Prof. Aimetti, is involved in the study of the relationship between the oral and gut microbiomes, receiving funding from the Italian Ministry of Research. He has authored diverse publications in international scientific journals and he currently serves as a board member of the EFP Alumni.
