Dr hab. Paweł Koperski is an associate professor at University of Warsaw, Poland. He completed his studies and obtained his doctorate and habilitation from the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw. His research interests are in freshwater ecology and zoology, behavioral ecology, biological monitoring, as well as in the philosophical and ethical basis of nature protection and animal welfare. He is the author or co-author of 41 scientific journal articles and several books and reviews (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7736-8394). For years he has been teaching students of: Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Environmental Protection and Artes Liberales on ecology and topics on the border of sciences and arts such as environmental ethics, philosophy of science and the ethical foundations of nature conservation.
