Faming Wang is a Professor in the Department of Biosystems, KU Leuven, Belgium. He earned his Lic. Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Working Environments from Lund University, Sweden. He was a Marie Curie Fellow and a Killam Fellow prior to becoming a faculty member in October 2013. His research interests are mainly focused on the built environment, indoor air quality, thermoregulatory system modelling, and occupational safety and health (environmental toxicology). Prof. Wang has supervised five Master’s students, three Ph.D. students as the main supervisor and five postdoctoral scholars. Prof. Wang has secured over 20 grants as a principal investigator from different funding bodies in China, Hong Kong SAR, Canada, and the EU (total granted amount: EUR 2.7 million). He has been an ad hoc reviewer for over 100 journals and has reviewed over 500 journal manuscripts, conference submissions, book proposals, and Ph.D. theses. Prof. Wang serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Thermal Biology and Frontiers in Built Environment and Indoor Air, has been as an editorial board member for a number of journals, such as Ergonomics, Frontiers in Physiology, the International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics, Energies, and Frontiers in Energy Research. He has been ranked among the top 2% of world scientists (published by Stanford University) in building and construction and human factors (single year and career-long) since 2020.
