Dr. Omar M.F. is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, and a research fellow at the Center of Excellence Geopolymer and Green Technology (CeGeoGTech), where he leads research on dynamic mechanical properties of materials, especially on polymeric based materials. His current research interests include the synthesis and characterization of various polymer matrix composites (PMCs) concerning their high strain rates and tribology properties. He is a professional engineer, professional technologist, and chartered engineer of the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM); Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT); and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, United Kingdom, respectively. He was the recipient of the book prize under the R&D category from the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education in 2015. Meanwhile, from 2014 to 2016, He was appointed as the Honorary Associate Researcher from the Georghe Asachi Technical Universiti of Iasi, Romania. Until recently, he has authored over 100 scientific papers on related topics and has been invited to over 30 events/conferences as an invited speaker.
