153 Winners Received MDPI’s 2026 Travel Awards to Attend Academic Conferences


Attending academic conferences is a key step in early career researcher development. It is an opportunity to present findings, connect with peers, and build influence within their field. For many postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, the cost of travel is the main barrier.

MDPI’s Travel Awards are designed to remove that barrier. Open to postdoctoral fellows and PhD students planning to present at an international conference, the awards are granted annually by each journal’s awards committee based on the quality and potential impact of the proposed presentation.
