Cover Story: The Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling of the Technical University Košice has organised the International Scientific Conference Modern Metallurgy-Iron and Steelmaking (IaSM 2023), in cooperation with the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic and The Faculty of Materials Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology in Poland. The conference was held at the Yasmin Hotel, Košice on September 27–29 2023, with the participation of many Slovak and foreign experts. Moreover, the organizers extended the basic topic of this conference—the production of iron and steel—to include current professional topics, such as waste processing, decarbonisation of industry, but also industry transformation by finding ecology sources of energy to fulfil future visions.
