Single-Domain Antibodies and Their Formatting to Combat Viral Infections
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Vlieger et al prepared a review article on virus-targeting Nanobodies. The authors are experts in the field and provide a thorough overview on the use of Nanobodies to diagnose and fight viral infections including a well prepared illustration and an informative table. The review article introduces the main aspects of Nanobody generation, their structure and the possibility to arrange them in different formats. The authors further point out how Nanobodies can be equipped with effector functions such as Fc regions to fight viral infections.
All in all, the manuscript is well prepared regarding structure, language and style. All major aspects of the chosen topic, including advantages and limitations, are well presented and therefore this manuscript will be a valuable contribution to the scientific community.
Minor point:
The authors should check the format of reference #27 since it contains no author names but only initials
