Extracellular Vesicles Derived from VEGF mRNA-Engineered Mesenchymal Stem Cells Promote Endothelial Cell Survival
Highlights
- EVs from MSCs engineered with VEGF mRNA show increased VEGF mRNA and protein, while preserving standard EV size and surface markers.
- Extracellular vesicles from MSCs engineered with VEGF mRNA are more effective at protecting HUVECs from apoptosis than those from control MSCs.
- The study demonstrates that VEGF-loaded EVs can be engineered by transfecting VEGF mRNA into parent MSCs.
- This approach provides an innovative platform to enhance MSC-EV-based therapies for vascular-related conditions and diseases.
