Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript describes the use of a water-soluble beta-CD/glutaraldehyde cross-linked polymer as hosting system for cinnamaldehyde. The resulting material has been proved to be an effective corrosion inhibitor towards mild steel in 3.5% NaCl Solution. The authors provide a complete characterization of the polymer, a detailed investigation of the guest-host interaction occurring, and a complete analysis of corrosion inhibition. Both experimental and theoretical calculations support hypothesis and conclusions. The host-guest activity of CD, its cross-linking with di aldehydes or dicarboxylic acids, as well as the effect cinnamaldehyde as corrosion inhibitors are well known. So, we cnnot say this work is really innovative. But the design of the paper is nice and effective, conclusions are well supported and for these reasons I think it is valuable for publication.

Reviewer 2 Report

I found the manuscript entitled :Molecular Assembly between Weak Crosslinking Cyclodextrin Polymer and trans-Cinnamaldehyde for Corrosion Inhibition towards Mild Steel in 3.5% NaCl Solution: Experimental and Theoretical Studies, suitable for publication in the current shape.

Just one comment regarding the figures and Tables in the supplementary data if it is possible to add them to the main manuscript would be better for the reader.
