- LAU-2 ‘communes’ that cumulated at least 1000 tourist arrivals between 2001 and 2016. This category is mainly associated with traditional Romanian tourist destinations such as the Carpathian Mountains (in Central Romania), the Black Sea seaside and the Danube Delta.
- LAU-2 ‘communes’ with less than 1000 tourist arrivals (including those with no tourists at all) between 2001 and 2016.
