Eighth International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic and Social Sustainability
Welcome to the website of the Eighth International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic and Social Sustainability. The 2012 Conference is to be held at the Robson Square, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada From 10 to 12 January. The Conference will work in a multidisciplinary way across the various fields and perspectives through which we can address the fundamental and related questions of sustainability.
Plenary speakers include some of the leading thinkers in these areas, as well as numerous paper, colloquium and workshop presentations. Participants are welcome to submit a proposal for a 30-minute paper, 60-minute workshop, or a jointly presented 90-minute colloquium session. Parallel sessions are loosely grouped into streams reflecting different perspectives or disciplines. Each stream also has its own talking circle, a forum for focused discussion of issues. Virtual participation is also available.
The Sustainability Conference is held annually in different locations around the world. The Conference was held at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand in 2011; University of Cuenca, Cuenca, Ecuador in 2010; University of Technology, Mauritius in 2009; Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Kuala, Terengganu, Malaysia in 2008; University of Madras, Chennai, India in 2007; Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, Vietnam in 2006; and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Island of Oahu, Hawaii, USA in 2005.
