2015 Metals received its first Impact Factor (0.883).
2016 Metals adopted a monthly publication schedule.
Metals announced the first edition of the Travel Award.
2018 Metals published its 1,000th paper.
Metals held two physical editorial board meetings at the TMS 2018 and the Thermec’ 2018, respectively.
Metals announced the first edition of the Young Investigator Award.
The Portuguese Materials Society (SPM) became affiliated to Metals.
2019 Metals held a physical editorial board meeting at The Euromat 2019.
Metals announced the first edition of the Outstanding Reviewer Award.
2020 Metals established the following sections:
  • Extractive Metallurgy;
  • Powder Metallurgy;
  • Corrosion and Protection;
  • Biobased and Biodegradable Metals;
  • Metal Casting, Forming and Heat Treatment;
  • Additive Manufacturing;
  • Metal Failure Analysis.
The Spanish Materials Society (SOCIEMAT) became affiliated to Metals.
Metals published its 5,000th paper.
Metals organized the 1st International Electronic Conference on Metallurgy and Metals.
Metals announced the second edition of the Highly Cited Paper/Outstanding Reviewer Awards.
Metals announced the fourth edition of the Travel Award.
2021 The Impact Factor increased to 2.351; the 5-year Impact Factor was 2.487.
