About Geoinformation

Aims

Geoinformation (ISSN 2076-3255) provides an advanced forum for the science and technology of geographic information. Geoinformation (ISSN 2076-3255) publishes regular research papers, reviews and communications. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. There are, in addition, two unique features of this journal:

  • Manuscripts regarding research proposals and research ideas will be particularly welcomed.
  • Electronic files and software regarding the full details of the calculation and experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary material.

Scope

  • Geodata collection/data mining: LiDAR, Near Infrared, geographic information system (GIS) algorithms and programming, satellite data, data structures, visualization, spatial data analysis, spatial data quality and the propagation of uncertainty, etc.
  • Geographic information systems (GIS): computers and networks, standards and protocols for data use and exchange between users, geographic information analysis, image processing, etc.
  • Geoinformation applications: land registration, hydrology, cadastral, land evaluation, planning or environmental observation, mapping, land use, building class, modern/historic aerial photography, geoinformation solutions, global environmental hazards, conservation of resources and environment, global change, socioeconomic, GIS applications for earth systems, etc.
  • Spatial information systems: spatial decision making, formalization of spatial problems, navigation in real and virtual environments, agents and transportation, interactions with digital maps
  • Geoinformation engineering: location-based services, external simulation modeling, etc.
  • Geography
  • Biogeography
  • Maps and mapping
