2–5 July 2018 MMET*2018

Kyiv, Ukraine

The 17th International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory (MMET*2018) is a traditional forum held in Ukraine since 1990. MMET is famous as efficient interface between the Ukrainian and Western scientists and engineers in the broad area of modeling and simulation of electromagnetic fields including wave propagation, radiation, scattering, guidance, processing, etc. Characteristic feature of MMET is a stronger emphasis on the analytical and mathematical aspects of research into electromagnetics. The program consists of only oral presentations (30-minute invited talks and 15-minute session ones), and English is single working language.

We invite young researchers and leading scientists from all continents to take part in our Conference. Come to blend mathematics with electromagnetics for microwave, photonic and plasmonic applications at Europe's Far East - in Ukraine!

This year MMET will be hosted by National Aviation University, Kyiv, Ukraine.

1–9 August 2018 International Congress of Mathematicians 2018 (ICM 2018)

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

From August 1st to 9th, 2018, Rio de Janeiro will host the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in its largest and most traditional convention center: Riocentro, in the Barra da Tijuca neighborhood.

Since 1897, the International Congress of Mathematicians has helped shape the history of mathematics in the 20th and 21st centuries. As the first edition of the ICM in Latin America, as well as in the Southern Hemisphere, the ICM in Rio de Janeiro will give us an opportunity to reflect on the great progress of the region in terms of research and public awareness of mathematics.

At this ICM, we will have the opportunity to expand the region's major breakthroughs in mathematical research and education. ICM in Rio will not only preserve the high scientific standard of the series, but will also usher in a new era of progress and visibility for Mathematics in Brazil and other developing countries.

6–17 August 2018 30th European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information

Sofia, Bulgaria

The European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information (ESSLLI) is an event organized every year in a different European country under the auspices of the Association of Logic, Language and Information (FoLLI). It brings together logicians, linguists, computer scientists, and philosophers to study logic, language and information and their interconnections. ESSLLI attracts about 400 participants and it is an interdisciplinary forum of students and lecturers from all over the world who share together the usefulness of the knowledge. During the last 5 years the summer school has been held in: Toulouse, France (2017); Bolzano, Italy (2016); Barcelona, Spain (2015); Tübingen, Germany (2014); Düsseldorf, Germany (2013).

The 30th jubilee edition of ESSLLI in 2018 will be organized by Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski” and the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, Bulgaria. The summer school will be held from 6 August to 17 August 2018 in Sofia. The summer school ESSLLI 2018 features various courses and workshops that cover the following areas: Language and Computation, Language and Logic and Logic and Computation. The courses are of the following levels: foundational, introductory and advanced. The workshops are on specific topics, famous researchers deliver evening lectures on various school related topics and the students present their research at student sessions. More information at:

4–7 September 2018 NABVP-2018 - International Conference in Nonlinear Analysis and Boundary Value Problems 2018

Santiago de Compostela, Spain

The NABVP-2018 is organized by the Group of Nonlinear Differential Equations at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, in honor of Prof. Juan J. Nieto, in occasion of his 60th birthday. The conference is sponsored by Xunta de Galicia, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC), the Faculty of Mathematics at USC, the Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad, Deputación Provincial de A Coruña, and Instituto de Matemáticas at USC.

The purpose of the Conference is to bring together researchers working on differential, difference and fractional equations and their applications. The conference will take place at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Santiago de Compostela. The oficial language will be English. The topics of the meeting cover the theory of differential, difference and fractional equations in a broad sense, with special attention, but not limited, to: Boundary value problems; Bioinformatics; Dynamical systems; Fractional calculus; Fixed point theory; Mathematical biology (Epidemiology, Population dynamics).

The scientific program of the conference consists of one-hour plenary lectures, forty-minute main lectures, thirty-minute invited lectures at scheduled special sessions and twenty-minute contributed talks. The Plenary Speakers are: Ravi P. Agarwal, Tomas Caraballo, Santiago Ibañez, and Delfim F. M. Torres. Special Sessions will cover the following topics: Critical point theory; Fractional equations; Fuzzy equations; Difference equations and discrete dynamical systems; Nonlinear boundary value problems. The participants of a Special Session will be invited by the corresponding organizers. Participants may contribute with a twenty-minute talk in one of the following topics: Ordinary differential equations; Partial differential equations; Difference equations; Dynamical systems; Fractional equations; Mathematical models.

A special issue will be published at the journal Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - B. The contributions to this Special Issue will be by invitation of the organizers of the conference. The rest of the accepted papers will be collected in an electronic book of proceedings. The organizing committee expects to be able to provide ten grants to cover the registration fees. Those students and participants coming from developing countries may apply for one of these grants by applying from March 15 to May 1 at the web page of the conference, where the instructions are posted. The final decision will be taken before May 15.

Important Dates: Application for grants: May 1, 2018; Abstract submission: May 15, 2018; Notification of abstract acceptance: May 31, 2018; Payment at reduced fee: June 15, 2018; Registration: July 1, 2018.
