Mr. Robert Seibert joined MDPI in February 2008 while studying for a B.Sc. in Nanoscience at the University of Basel. At MDPI, Robert participated in the developing and maintaining the publishing platform running at mdpi.com, as well as the e-conference software at sciforum.net.
Dr. Yuan Gao
Dr. Yuan Gao joined MDPI in March 2008, she graduated from Tsinghua University with a major in biology. She was the Managing Director of the MDPI Beijing office until early 2011. During that time, she was also the managing editor of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IJMS).
M.A. Alexander Thiesen
Alexander graduated in history, political science and law from the Humboldt University Berlin, Germany in 2009. He joined MDPI in December 2011, initially providing editorial support for a variety of journals and assisting in marketing related work. He was appointed Communications Manager in 2013.
Mr. Marc Bigler
Mr. Marc Bigler joined MDPI in November 2007 and was initially employed as a Software Engineer, later promoted to Director of IT in 2009. Marc was responsible for the company's IT infrastructure, security, server administration and overal IT operations.
Ms. Tracy Chen
Ms. Tracy Chen joined MDPI in July of 2008 from the Jiling University with a Master Degree in polymer chemistry and physics. She launched the journal Materials in 2009, which now has an Impact Factor of 1.677 (2011).
Ms. Gardenia You
Ms. Gardenia You joined MDPI in November 2008 from the Xiamen University with a Master Degree in inorganic chemistry. She managed the journal International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH), indexed by SCIE since 2009 and now holds an impact factor of 1.605 (2011).
Dr. Brietta Pike
Dr. Brietta Pike was born in Melbourne, Australia. She obtained a B.Sc. in Genetics and Biochemistry from the University of Melbourne (1997), an Honours degree in Biomedicine from the same University (1998), and a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Melbourne at St Vincent's Institute (2003). Brietta joined MDPI in February 2010 as a Production Editor, and was promoted to Managing Director in February 2011 overseeing the MDPI operations in Basel.
Dr. Ophelia Han
Dr. Ophelia Han was born in Beijing, China. She obtained a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Capital Normal University in 2003, and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Biochemistry from the School of Chemistry, Beijing Normal University in 2008. Ophelia joined MDPI in November 2008 as a Managing Editor for the journals Sensors and Remote Sensing and was subsequently promoted to Editorial Section Manager and then to the position of Chief Editorial Director. Her Ph.D. thesis was written on the subject of: Study of multifunctional sensors based on polypyridyl ruthenium (II) complexes. Ophelia published five papers in international journals as the first author and co-authored several others and worked for MDPI until the end of October 2013.
