In April 2018, two societies and two specialist networks chose to establish close collaboration with MDPI journals.

As part of this collaboration, members of these affiliated societies and networks will enjoy a discount on the article processing charges (APC) when submitting articles to the corresponding journals. The collaboration goes beyond the discount benefit offered to members and includes other services as well as cross-promotion.

The COST Action European Network Bioadhesion “ENBA” is a cooperation of all European academic and industrial researchers, interested in characterizing and addressing the phenomenon of bioadhesion at all scales. Experts from the different scientific fields and technical sectors aim to identify and characterize a wide range of bioadhesive systems (...), to evaluate bonding properties and performance from the macro- down to the nano-scale from different perspectives (...), and to design artificial blueprints to test these principles in vitro.

inVIVO Planetary Health is a diverse group of scientists, clinicians, educators and advocates from many fields who recognize the importance of approaching complex environmental issues from a holistic and integrated perspective—extending and combining the typical focus on the biological and psychological level with the wider sociological and environmental determinants of human health—and understanding how these are interrelated with societal health. This initiative provides both the impetus for a series of specific projects and provides an umbrella framework to integrate these in a unique way.

The International Society for Mycotoxicology (ISM) aims to increase the scientific knowledge concerning biology, chemistry and any sciences/disciplines related to mycotoxins and toxigenic fungi, through membership networking, scientific meetings, symposia, discussions, technical courses and publications.

The Manufacturing Engineering Society (MES) is an association comprising most of the academics working on manufacturing topics within the universities in Spain, organizations and professionals interested in promoting knowledge and research on manufacturing-related topics.
