Abstract: A new class of roof-shaped dibenzobarrelenemaleimide derivatives was prepared by the condensation of a bridged maleic anhydride with amines. A para-substituted bifunctional derivative was proven to be a 1:2 complex with acetone by an X-ray crystallographic study.
